What is android

Android is a mobile operating system which owns by search engine giant Google.This os mostly comes with touchscreen devices like smartphone and tablets. 

Apart from touchscreen devices, it also comes with a smartwatch, tv's, and car.

Who developed android?


Android was initially developed by Android Inc. founded in Palo Alto, California.
By Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears and Chris White.

But in July 2005 google bought it at 50 million with its important founding member's and now own and develop it.

Different versions of android

The first version of the android smartphone was launched in 2008 on device HTC dream.

The first few version's of android was not that successful but google keep releasing year by year and now it is the leading os for mobiles. the different version's of android are named below.
  • Android 1.5 – Cupcake  
  • Android 1.6 -Donut
  • Android 2.1- Éclair
  • Android 2.2 -Froyo
  • Android 2.3- Gingerbread
  • Android 3.2 -Honeycomb
  • Android 4.0- Ice Cream 
  • Android 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 -jelly Bean 
  • Android 4.4- KitKat
  • Android 5.0- Lollipop
  • Android 6.0- Marshmallow
an interesting thing about its every version is that they named after a sweets or dessert. and arrange in alphabetic and numeric order like ice cream, KitKat, etc.

Which smartphone’s comes with Android os?

As android is open source it is manufactured by Many handset Company like Samsung, Motorola, etc, sony, Micromax to name a few.

Those companies make their own hardware for smartphones but the operating system which they all use is android.

What can you do with an android smartphone?

well, android has unlimited potential to do things but I have divided its users into two broad categories.

  • Before installing any app :- As google own it there are some basic app's of google which comes preinstalled with it like google search, Gmail, maps, and youtube by which you can things like surf the web, manage your email, view maps and video's etc.also there are some basic feature like calendar, to-do list, etc come for basic uses
  • After installing apps: - Here's start the real story there is a whole new world of apps for the different tasks to perform in your android mobile like for connecting with friends by social network you have app for facebook, Whatsapp, twitter to name a few.
 play games, manage your bank account, make payment online, edit images the list goes on and on. whatever the task you can think about there is an app out there for you.

The unique feature of android is the power of customization You can give your screen your own look. And you can customize it the way you like there is no limitation for you.

The things which were possible on computer's only a few year ago now you can do on your mobile with your fingertip. this is the magic of android.

Where I will find these apps

Google play store is the largest online market for downloading apps for android. With over 1 million apps out there.

you can choose whatever best according to you and most interesting thing is that most of the app are free to download.

You do not have to pay anything for most of the app just download it from there and have fun.
